You are warmly invited to BlueStar's 3rd Annual "For Israel Film Festival" on Sunday, December 11, 2011 from 12:45 PM to 3 PM at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center at 3921 Fabian Way in Palo Alto, CA.  Come watch the five short Israel-boosting documentary films and meet the 25 local teenage filmmakers who produced them as part of the 2010-2011 Write On For Israel program.

The Write On for Israel one-year educational program gives young people a background in Jewish and Israeli history, and teaches the critical thinking skills and tools necessary for them to become powerful Israel advocates, spokespeople and opinion leaders - before they reach college. The program is open to a select group of high school juniors and includes a heavily subsidized 10-day trip to Israel, speaking opportunities for participants to share their experiences, and a public film festival highlighting student documentary films.

Each year, nearly 80,000 Jewish American high school graduates enter college mostly unprepared to deal with the anti-Israel environment on many campuses.  Write On for Israel's goal is to change that starting with teens in the San Francisco Bay Area.

PHOTOJOURNALISM EXHIBITION

WOFI's first ever photojournalist exhibition will be on display during the Film Festival.  Beautiful photographs taken by two Write On participants will feature their personal perspectives on places and people in Israel.
